Get Ready for the Bossier City Breakout Rally!

Apr. 10 2023 News By Todd Shockley, DHOG Road Captain

I hope everyone going to the HOG Rally in Bossier City is as excited as I am. Those that have been to a Rally before know the drill, however there may be some folks that are new to this experience so here’s what you can expect.

First off, make sure your ride is ready. Inspect your tires/lights/brakes. Breaking down in the swamp is not fun. You may look tasty to an alligator. Also take your rain gear. You never know when you may need it. And bring cash as there may be some places that don’t take credit cards.

You have to check-in at the Dealership to pick-up your Rally package. The package has your t-shirt, pin/patch, events info and wristband. Make sure you don’t lose or take off your wristband until you’re ready to go home. We’ll stop and do check in on Thursday afternoon before going to our hotel.

There should be some vendors at the Dealership you can check out any day. Sometimes there are quite a few and other times not so many. We’ll just have to wait and see what they have.

The local HOG Chapter has guided and un-guided rides available for you to participate in. I like to see what they have planned and then go from there. Most times I make my own rides up in case theirs isn’t what I want to do. I have 2 rides routed for what I hope are some fun trips. Let me know if you want the GPX / Excel files. They do have a guided ride to Jefferson I may want to do.

There are events planned each day/night by the Rally committee. Bike games, bands, scavenger hunt, etc. Participation is totally up to you. I always try to make it to the closing ceremony at the Dealership on the last night if nothing else.

Most times we all hang out/ride together but this is not mandatory by any means. Feel free to go and do your own thing if you want. And if anyone has a particular restaurant in mind, throw it out there. I’m game as long as there’s crawfish!

Let’s go and have some fun!
