Hello brothers and sisters,

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far. Except for these hellish temperatures, but hey its Texas in July right?? Every now and then we get an overcast day that makes for cooler riding. Whew!

As everyone has probably heard Dallas Harley-Davidson has a new GM, Lance Orso. Lance has been at Dallas HD previously and from what I can see I think we are lucky to have him back. So, Lance if you read this, welcome back. There is a meet and greet for Lance at the dealer on Sat July 29th so drop by and say hello.

Friday morning there is a ride being led by Eric Wall to the Lake Pointe Church for the Memorial service for Gene Barnes. Please take part if you can. Wear a white shirt with black arm band and DHOG vest.

Remember everyone, these are our brothers and sisters, our family. Please try to attend.

I spent a few days in Galveston with Sheri last week and while we were eating some dinner we could see quite well the battleship Texas in dry dock across the bay. The ship is history being restored. It actually moved me seeing the old battlewagon sitting there with its rusted hull and reminded me of what a powerful role in history that ship played. How majestic she would have looked steaming along in a line with her sister ships. Wow, what a sight. It further reminds me of all the majestic men and women who have served our country sometimes at great personal cost. And sometimes wounded in ways we cannot see. Scars that take much longer to heal than bone or flesh.

To our veterans!! We love you... Our brothers and sisters who took the fight for us and didn’t flinch.

See you soon

John S

PS. If my wife says she won our mini golf outing…… nope!
