About John

Hello all my DHOG brothers and sisters! My name is John Sharp and I am the Director of this Dallas HOG chapter. It is an honor to serve this wonderful group of people.  I bought my 1stHarley in 2021 actually. Hard to believe but it seems like a long time ago because of all the great rides I have experienced with this group. I started riding motorcycles when I was about 14 years old and have always had a blast riding.  I joined the group when I bought a 2017 Heritage. I remember standing in the back during the meetings to try and learn how the group functioned. Gradually I got to know people and after about a year I can say I have met so many incredible people I have trouble remembering all their names.

Ultimately I work for you guys, the Dallas HOG group. I hope to continue to build the friendships within the group. Everyone should know everyone, that’s how a family works right? We are a family. I will do anything for you my brothers and sisters… It is also my intent to continue improving our organization and our relationship with our sponsoring dealership, Dallas Harley Davidson. Let’s face it, without them we are not a HOG chapter. There are some great folks in the dealership and we are lucky to have them.

Again I am honored to serve as the Director for this chapter and let’s continue building, making new friends and best of all…. LET’S RIDE!!!

About Alan

I purchased my first motorcycle, a Yamaha 350, when I was 17.  While I loved riding, college and work made it impractical and I gave it up.  In 2008, after getting my children through college and out of the house, I decided to take a riding course.  Once I completed the course, I purchased my first Harley Davidson, an 883.  I loved the bike but discovered after riding on a few longer trips that I wanted a bigger bike so I traded up to a 2010 Fat Boy.

Up until 2017 my riding consisted of around town and summer trips with my brother.  In 2107, I decided that retirement was in my future and more riding was on the top of my list of things to do. Looking for a local group to ride with, I joined the Dallas HOG chapter. Later I traded my Fat Boy for a 2017 Electra Glide Ultra Classic.  My wife, Tracy, has joined as well and the two of us ride with the group.  Last summer we made our first trip together to the Colorado Mountains and the Black Hills of South Dakota.  This fall we went with a great group of DHOG folks to Galveston for the Lone Star Rally.

Joining DHOG has been a lot of fun and given us the opportunity to meet a whole new group of friends who enjoy riding as much as we do.

If you are looking for a group of people to ride and travel with come check us out.  I think you will be glad you did.

About Kim

Hi my name is Kim and I’m excited to be your Ladies of HOG Officer.

We got involved with DHOG in mid-2021 after trading in our “Classic” 1991 Heritage Softail and upgrading to a 2020 Heritage Softail.  When you purchase a bike from Harley Davidson you are offered a 1 year HOG membership for free. It was a free benefit so we thought it might be fun to see what the group was about and maybe go on a ride or two.  *Personal side note - I never thought, even once, that I would be a part of a motorcycle riding group. I had this impression that a riding group must be a scary MC, like you see on TV and in movies, and I was really nervous going into this.  Wow, I was SO wrong!*

Once we met the fantastic folks in this group, we were immediately hooked! The Dallas Harley Owners Group is such a welcoming and fun group of normal everyday people who share a love for riding.   We’ve made really great friends and look forward to every week when we can ride with the group.

I have always enjoyed being a passenger on the back of the bike, still do ride as a passenger sometimes, but after I saw how many women in the group were riding their own motorcycle, I knew I had to have one too!   I am now the proud owner of a 2021 Tri Glide and I ride every chance I get.

Did you know that DHOG also supports the local community and raises funds to help those who are less fortunate? Fun, friends, and community service? Yes, please!

Whether you are a rider or a passenger, come see what we are about – you’ll love this group too!

About Patti

Hello!  My name is Patti, been riding behind my husband for around 19 yrs.  We got into riding while looking for something to putt around while we we’re out RV-ing.  What a wonderful change this has made in our lives.  We have gone to so many amazing  places that we never knew about.  But I have to say the best part is the Harley family, we have been blessed.
My life is a little crazy, suppose to be retired but still help out with the family A/C Company keeping the books.  I have 3 wonderful children, and 3 grandchildren.  Don’t ask about the grandbabies because you might get a ear full, us grandparents don’t know when to shut up.
I hope you will want to come meet us at Dallas Harley, we are a unique group of people, and we would love for you to join.

About Tracy

Hi! My name is Tracy and I have been riding behind my husband Alan since we retired in 2018.  I had ridden with my brothers in high school so riding was not foreign to me.  I absolutely LOVE our wind therapy time as we travel around the country.  It is my goal to keep the DHOG website up to date and to make sure the DHOG Facebook page is a place for DHOG members to post pictures of our rides together or even of ones on their own.  And to get answers or get opinions on their burning motorcycle questions.

This Harley group is diverse and welcoming.  I hope if you aren’t already riding with us, that you come by and meet this friendly group.

About Cindy

Like many people who grow up in the country, I grew up riding dirt bikes, four wheeler’s, snowmobiles….if it went fast, I was game! My dad had gifted me with his 1991 Heritage Soft Tail Classic and a few years ago I was finally able to get it moved from New York to Texas and having it made me remember how much I love to ride a Harley. It was a beautiful bike but it was a “classic” that required lots of TLC and some mechanical uncertainty.

In 2020, our local Dallas Harley Davidson dealer was having an event and I won a gift card. When I went in to the shop to pick up my winnings I saw that they were offering Retail for Trade In. A little while later I rode out with a brand new 2020 Heritage Soft Tail and my old 1991 classic went to someone who could really appreciate that bike.

With my new bike came a one year free membership to the Dallas Harley Owners Group and we thought it was a great way to meet new people, especially during the pandemic quarantine. At the very first event that we attended, we felt immediately welcomed and found a group of people who just love to ride. That group of people are now some of our best friends and we consider them family.

As your Head Road Captain my job is to coordinate with and support our outstanding Road Captains who lead and create ride opportunities for our chapter members. Come see what we’re about and let’s ride!
